What is a multi-head air conditioning system?
Cool multiple rooms
A multi-head system lets you run multiple indoor head units from a single outdoor condenser. This means you can cool each room of the house at separate temperatures. If you’re planning on cooling more than a couple of rooms though, installing a ducted system may reduce your overall running costs.
Air conditioning for limited space
The main advantage of multi-head systems is not having to pay for and install multiple outdoor condensers around your house – one for each split-system. A multi-head system is therefore less unsightly, but long lengths of ducting can become expensive if the head units are far apart.
Installation
Brands like Daikin, Mitsubishi, and Panasonic make systems that can run up to 8 head units. To install any multi-head or split-system air conditioner requires a RAC-licenced installer. To get started though, we recommend talking to your installer first though do discuss your options.
